Locker selected to the All-Mideast Region Baseball Team
Junior centerfielder Beau Locker (Coldwater/Union City High School) has been selected to the 2003 American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region first team.
OLIVET, Mich. – Junior centerfielder Beau Locker (Coldwater/Union City High School) has been selected to the 2003 American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region first team.
This season, Locker set single-season school records with a .431 batting average, 62 base hits, 14 doubles, 89 total bases, 40 runs scored and 144 at-bats. He led the team with a .618 slugging percentage and was second with a .481 on-base percentage and 17 stolen bases. Locker ranks second all-time at Olivet in career hits with 141. He is four hits shy of breaking the record of 144 held by Mike Davis (1993-96).
In addition, Locker was a first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection. He scored a league-leading 24 runs and was second with a .460 batting average (29-of-63). Locker ranked third with 43 total bases and a .683 slugging percentage.
Locker and the Fighting Comets finished the 2003 season with a 23-17 overall record and a second-place finish in the MIAA with a 12-6 mark.
