Olivet begins season at AHBA #1 and #2

CANTON, Mich. – The University of Olivet bowling teams began their seasons by competing at the first two American Heartland Bowling Association (AHBA) tournaments, held at the Super Bowl Lanes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On Saturday for the AHBA #1, the men's team placed third of 15 teams with a 6,174 total, while the women were ninth of 15 schools with a 4,966 total.
- On Sunday for the AHBA #2, the men finished ninth of 17 teams with a 5,593 total, while the women were seventh of 16 schools with a 5,046 total.
FOR THE COMET MEN
- On Saturday, freshman Nicholas Brown had a team-best 1,241 total over six games to place 15th of 101 bowlers. His high game was 225 pins. Freshman Kory Nurse totaled 1,094 pins over five games. Sophomore Ryen Grigg at 900 over four games.
- On Sunday, Nurse placed eighth of 111 bowlers with an 835 total, including a high of 257, over four games. Grigg totaled 607 pins over three games. Brown tallied 586 pins over three games.
FOR THE COMET WOMEN
- On Saturday, sophomore Kendalyn Wilson landed on the all-tournament team with a third-place finish. She totaled 1,185 pins over six games, with a high game of 251 pins. Freshman Emma Wickersham recorded a 942 total over six games. Sophomore Della Ancel finished with a 924 total over six games.
- On Sunday, freshman Brianna Fowlston had a team-best 695 total over four games to finish 20th of 96 bowlers. Her high game was 194 pins. Wilson was next at 682 total over four games, with a high game of 218 pins. Wickersham was not far behind with a 676 total, including a high game of 180.
UP NEXT
- The Comets return to action next Saturday, November 2, for AHBA #3, in Sandusky, Ohio. The women will compete at Star Lanes, and the men will bowl at Cedar Lanes.
