Eleven athletic teams from The University of Olivet receive MIAA Team GPA award
BRIGHTON, Mich. – Eleven (11) athletic teams from The University of Olivet are recipients of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Team GPA award for the 2025-26 academic year. The award is presented annually to the conference teams who post a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average for the entire academic year.
The women's tennis team had the highest GPA at 3.666, followed by men's tennis team at 3.554, women's volleyball at 3.549 and women's golf at 3.340. The women's cross country was next at 3.504, followed by women's soccer (3.496), men's cross country (3.487), softball (3.463), women's basketball (3.408), baseball (3.388) and men's basketball (3.342).
UOLIVET NOTES:
- The MIAA Team GPA award was presented for the first time in 1998-99. The 2024-25 academic year is the 26th year for the award. In the 26 years that the award has been presented, 194 Olivet teams have been recognized.
- This year's 11 teams honored ties the 2015-16 and 2018-19 academic years for the third-most teams honored in a single academic year.
- The women's golf team is a recipient of the award for the most times of any Olivet athletic team at 22, including the last 19 years.
- The women's tennis team has received the award 19 times, including 17 of the last 18 years.
- The women's basketball and softball teams are both 16-time recipients.
- The women's soccer and women's volleyball teams are both 15-time honorees.
- The men's basketball team is earning the honor for the second time in school history.
