Comets of the Week - October 21, 2024

The Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Brady Applegate, of Jerome, and graduate of Hanover-Horton High School. Applegate shot a 77 to tie for fifth of 63 men’s golfers gathered at the Sylvania Country Club for the Lourdes (Ohio) University Fall Invitational. The performance landed him on the all-tournament team. Applegate’s 77 consisted of 13 pars and five bogies.

The Female Comet of the Week is senior Abi Nunez, of Hillsdale, and graduate of North Adams Jerome High School. Nunez posted a double-double with 20 kills and 10 digs in the women’s volleyball team’s five-set loss to Alma College. She also had three service aces and four assisted blocks for a match-best 25 points. The 20 kills pushed her season to 350, which is the second-most in UOlivet history for a season.
