Dean Trailways Male Comets of the Week - February 27, 2023

The Dean Trailways Co-Male Comet of the Week is senior Jordon Brown, of Niles, and graduate of Niles High School. Brown won the 200-meter dash (22.07) and 400-meter dash (49.33), and finished in the long jump (21 feet, 2 inches) at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships. His time in the 200 broke the school record. Brown also ran the anchor leg of the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay.

The Dean Trailways Co-Male Comet of the Week is junior Donovan King, of Detroit, and graduate of Farmington High School. King finished second in the 285-pound weight class at the 2023 NCAA Division III Central Regional. The performance secured a trip to the NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships. King pinned his first opponent in 2:17, followed that with an 8-2 decision and then posted a 40-second pin in the semifinals. In a battle of the nation’s top two 285-pound wrestlers, King fell to Jack Heldt from Wabash (Ind.) College, 5-2.
