Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - May 3, 2021

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is junior Bradley Hawkins, of Jackson, and graduate of Concord High School. At the Olivet College Comet Tune-up, Hawkins finished second in the hammer throw with a school-record toss of 162 feet, 4 inches. He also recorded a personal-best throw of 126 feet, 2 inches in the discus.

This week’s Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is sophomore Rachel Swartz, of Battle Creek, and graduate of Pennfield High School. Swartz cleared a season-best height of 4 feet, 9-1/2 inches to finish in second-place in the high jump at the Olivet College Comet Tune-up. She also stepped in and ran the anchor leg of the third-place 4x100-meter relay (:53.12).
